Ballston Spa Youth Lacrosse Spring 2023 Grade 3-4 Girls Team








 

 

 

Program Goals and Philosophy:

Lacrosse is growing in popularity more and more every year.  The 3/4 lacrosse program is designed to introduce the “fastest game on two feet” to players at the very youngest ages.  A major focus will be placed on learning the basic rules and skills of the game including ground balls, passing and catching techniques, shooting, and basic offensive and defensive knowledge through small field games and introducing the use of the arc in the game.  In addition to learning the skills of the game, a prime focus will be placed on recognizing the importance of physical fitness and of demonstrating good sportsmanship both on and off the field.  Above all else, the ultimate goal is for each player to have as much fun as possible!  Players will be introduced to full field competitive play.  The 3/4 program is designed to be an exciting learning experience for all athletes.

U.S. Lacrosse Membership Required:

Each player must be registered with U.S. Lacrosse as a player to register for our program. The cost to register as a player is $35 yearly membership.

Practices:

Practices will be held Tuesday and Wednesday evenings from 6-7 PM behind the middle school and Saturday games, with some Sunday round robins.  If we have to cancel practice we will try and make up on Friday of the same week.  We practice rain or shine, but if the weather is overly threatening, parents will be notified of a cancellation.  We will begin practices when the fields are open for use, usually in early April.

Cost: $150

​

**Equipment**: 

Stick, mouth piece, & ASTM Standard Eye Goggles.  Each player will receive a Ballston Spa jersey and shooting shirt with registration.  Cleats are strongly suggested.
