Ballston Spa Youth Lacrosse Spring 2021 Grade 1-2 Team
Program Goals and Philosophy:
Lacrosse is growing in popularity more and more every year. The 1/2 lacrosse program is designed to introduce the “fastest game on two feet” to players at the very youngest ages. A major focus will be placed on learning the basic rules and skills of the game including ground balls, passing and catching techniques, shooting, and basic offensive and defensive knowledge through small field games. In addition to learning the skills of the game, a prime focus will be placed on recognizing the importance of physical fitness and of demonstrating good sportsmanship both on and off the field. Above all else, the ultimate goal is for each player to have as much fun as possible! The 1/2 program is designed to be an exciting learning experience for all athletes.
Practices will be held on Monday & Wednesday from 6:00-7:30 PM and Saturday mornings at the Wood Rd Athletic Fields. If we have to cancel practice we will try and make up on Friday of the same week. This year we will not be hosting round robin games with other programs so our time during the week or weekend may be for games. We practice rain or shine, but if the weather is overly threatening, parents will be notified of a cancellation by Coach Snow. We will begin practices when the fields are open for use. We may have indoor practices if there is space at the school or other local fields and will send information out to all of our families.
